General information
久喜市は、230年の伝統を誇る久喜提燈祭り「天王様」で知られており、祭りの期間は7月12日から18日です。山車が曳き出されるのは毎年、曜日に関係なく7月12日と18日です。 同じ山車が昼は人形山車で夜は提燈山車として組み替えられ、1台の山車が２つの姿を見せてくれます。当日は関東一といわれる提燈山車が、賑やかなお囃子とともに曳き廻されます。 また、その他にも、春のれんげ祭り、秋の市民祭りと各季節を通じて大きなお祭りがあり、地域に伝わる伝統芸能や史跡などの貴重な文化財も数多く残されています。
